BLUE MIND THEORY

BLUE MY MIND | BLUE MIND THEORY

Blue Mind Theory describes the mildly sedative state we fall into when near, in, on or underwater. Marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols, focuses on the proven scientific evidence that being close to bodies of water promotes mental health and happiness.

“People can experience the benefits of the water whether they’re near the ocean, a lake, river, swimming pool or even listening to the soothing sound of a fountain.”

In 2016 the European Union created BlueHealth2020 which is a pan-European research initiative investigating the links between environment, climate and health. The programme is specifically focused on understanding how water-based environments in towns and cities can affect health and wellbeing.

So whether you have a pond, waterfall, fountain or aquarium, take some time out of your day to watch and listen to the calming tones.
